SB & H, "The Kids Who Care Club" - The Little Auction That Could and Did!!!
The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association
of Ontario; Dec. 3-10, 2003
The 'Kids Who Care Club' at Parkview P.S. has
included this year an online auction with their annual
'Race For Research' in support of the SBHAO.
Michael is a grade 8 student at Parkview who was
born with Spina Bifida. Michael has worked hard
over the years to advocate for his rights and even
helped secure funds for a wheelchair accessible
door at the school when he was just 7 years old.
Over the years, Parkview has held their annual event
and has helped raise a lot of money for the SBHAO, but, in this, Michael's graduating year, 'The Kids Who Care Club' has set a fundraising
goal of $10,000.
RESULT
When we initially set our $10,000 goal, many people felt we were being unrealistic, but encouraged us nonetheless. We were thrilled to prove
them wrong. It was so easy...thanks to Charity Auction Concepts. Not only did we meet our fundraising goal, but we got a great deal of
publicity on behalf of the SBHAO. To our surprise, few of the items were actually won by the Parkview community. Our little school
fundraiser got international bids and attention.
RECOMMENDATION
Charity Auction Concepts made fundraising so easy. The extent of our work and financial output was a letter campaign and postage. That
was it! They took care of everything! the biggest challenge was coming up with the right words of thanks when they handed us our cheque.
What more could you ask for? Thank you!
